The 2010 Nordic Barista Cup program is divided into 3 topics covered during 3 days:
Thursday 16/9 is the ORIGIN day focussing on Colombia dealing with varietals, areas, defects followed by educational cuppings.
Friday 17/9 is the ROASTING AND TASTING day. This day you will learn about sourcing, roasting and acidity/texture.
Saturday 18/9 is about PREPARATION AND SALES. Saturday is also the public day where we open the doors for coffee enthusiasts.

UPDATES IN 2010 NBC PROGRAM
First update is that there will be a NBC GET TOGETHER at KAFFA Wednesday night 15th of September.
Here you can meet attendees, the national teams and enjoy a refreshment. This is only for Nordic Barista Cup attendees and Nordic Roaster attendees.

NEW NORDIC ROASTER 2010
The Nordic Roaster seminar will be held 15th of September and this year the Nordic Roaster competition will be divided into 2 parts:
PART 1: 30 kilos of green coffee from the same Colombian lot will be sent in advance to the competitors. The roasteries will roast the coffee at their own facilities and submit 2 kilos for the competition.

HARRY POTTER ON A FLYING BROOM

The gala dinner theme is Harry Potter.
The gala dinner and award ceremony will be held at Sporten, which is built in 1896 in traditional dragon style.
We look forward to see a lot of Hagrid's, Sirius Black's and Bellatrix Lestrange's.

CASCARA BITTER FROM LOS ALPES
Apart from coffee you will also have the possibility to taste a unrivalled beer at the 2010 Nordic Barista Cup. The cascara (pulp) used is from Finca Los Alpes in El Salvador owned by Aida Batlle.
At this very moment Norwegian head brewer from Nøgne Ø is botteling the Cascara Bitter exclusively for NBC.The Cascara Bitter is only available during Nordic Barista Cup.

COLOMBIAN BARISTAS IN OSLO
Colombia is the 2010 focus country. And this year baristas from Colombia will also be competing at the Nordic Barista Cup.
This is a long term dream of Nordic Barista Cup to bring baristas from producing countries to the event to be together, act together, learn together with other coffee proffessionals. Bienvenidos a Oslo!
